Deb Dixon

2010

Deb Dixon GMC One-Day Workshop
Richardson, Texas - April 10
9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Holiday Inn

This intensive workshop will cover the three most important elements of popular fiction - goal, motivation and conflict - and how those elements work with the mythic structure of Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey to help writers conceive and create strong plots and compelling characters.

For $20, payable to Ms. Dixon at the workshop, participants can purchase a copy of Deb Dixon's book "GMC: Goal, Motivation and Conflict." Ms. Dixon will accept payment by cash or check the day of the event. To reserve your copy of the book, email the workshop coordinator at program@dallasromanceauthors.com.

This modern how-to classic by National bestselling and award-winning author Debra Dixon has become a must-have for beginning and experienced writers. The author helps you know if your idea will work, plan a road map to keep your story on track, discover why your scenes aren't working and what to do about it, create characters that editors and readers will care about, and write a dynamite query letter to an editor. Complete with charts and examples from well-known books and movies.

"This book belongs on every fiction writer's bookshelf. Anyone who has ever had a story to tell and is dying to get it down on paper will find guidance and inspiration in GMC. The presentation is clear, immediate, and relevant to all writers--from novices to seasoned professionals. Experienced author Debra Dixon has done a magnificent job of demystifying the toughest aspect of fiction writing: that of giving a story shape, form and urgency." -- Susan Wiggs, New York Times Bestselling author and RITA Award-winning author of over 50 novels and novellas.

A buffet lunch is included in the registration fee.
